following divisions will be accepting entries.
Some divisions may be combined. If your team's
divisions does not fill, you will be contacted
to play up or receive a refund.

If a team cancels before Dec. 15 there is a $100

MANDATORY HOTEL
BOOKING POLICY
•
To participate in the 2012 California Winter Games,
all teams are required to book hotel accommodations
at one of the listed CSG host hotels offered at
discounted prices. See Hotel
Discount page for details on rates and how
to book your rooms.
•
Teams choosing not to book hotel rooms at our
host hotels are required to pay
a $75 Deviation Fee per team made payable to California
State Games. Upon completion of paid Deviation
Fee, teams are accepted into the tournament.
•
Exemptions: Teams residing in San Diego, Orange
or Riverside County are exempt from the mandatory
Hotel Booking Policy.
TORCH
LIGHTING CEREMONY
All athletes are invited to participate in the
Torch Lighting Ceremony held on the ice before
the Skills Competition. Teams wear their team
jerseys and will be recognized on the ice. Team
captains will pass the torch and the cauldron
will be lit. Immediately following the ceremony,
you should stay and cheer on your team in the
Skills Competition! Times will be included on
the final schedules.
SKILLS
COMPETITION
Each team will be submit 4 players for the three
events in the Skills Competition. Submission Deadline
for players is January 16, 2012. The events are
explained below:
Target
Shooting - Targets will be attached to the
net and each player will have 10 pucks to shoot
as many as possible within 2 minutes.
Speed - Players will skate 1 lap as fast
as they can. Holding their stick is permitted.
Break Away - Each team submits a goalie
and a shooter. We keep stats on goalie saves and
number of goals by shooter. Shooter is given 5
pucks and timed in case of a tie.

BRING ROSTER STICKERS FOR SCORESHEETS (6
or more)
- First
games will be held in the morning on Friday
at 9am. Schedules will not be revised
for a team's specific travel plans.
- Cal
State Games reserves the right to close
a division before the registration deadline.
Many divisions fill up fast.
- Championship
games will be played on Monday. Final game
on Monday is estimated to be finished around
3pm.

All teams must show proof of USA Hockey
team registration, team roster and release
forms for each player prior to their first
game.
-
Most teams will play 15 minute stop time
periods. Mite teams will play 12 minute
stop time periods. 5 minute warm up time.
No over time shall be permitted.
- Athletes
will receive a goody bag full of great stuff
at check-in.
- Rosters
should be submitted with the entry form.
Birthdate of each player needs to accompany
the roster.
