  • ATHLETE RESIDENCY POLICY

    National Congress of State Games, the membership organization of the California State Games, has opened its residency requirement to allow non-resident participation in State Games events by residents of neighboring states that do not have a State Games program (Nevada and Baja) and residents of neighboring states whose State Games program does not offer their sport(Arizona and Oregon). California State Games has agreed to allow non-resident participation in both situations listed above.

  • INSURANCE COVERAGE

    The California State Games has a General Liability Policy for the Games. This insurance covers medical costs only when accident or injury is caused by our negligence. It is expressly understood that this insurance does not cover property loss or damage to the participant or medical costs if an accident or injury occurs during the normal routine of competition or during travel to and from competition. 


    EACH PARTICIPANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN MEDICAL INSURANCE

  • REFUND POLICY

    NO REFUNDS - Except for the following:

    • Entries received after the maximum number have been accepted
    • If low entries are received in a division and the division is cancelled
    • Entries of non-qualified participants

    THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FOR CANCELLED EVENTS DUE TO WEATHER - Sports using outdoor facilities are weather dependant. Competitions will be conducted unless the Commissioners, Facilities Managers or CSG Staff determine the weather conditions are potentially dangerous or life threatening. If playing fields incur significant damage, play may be cancelled. 


    To request a refund, please send an email to info@calstategames.org explaining your situation and why you feel you should receive a refund.


    **No refund will be permitted because an entrant fails to compete or due to cancellation of an event because of inclement weather or an act of God. 

  • SPORTSMANSHIP POLICY

    Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.

    • An athlete may be denied entry into the California State Games if they have shown unsportsmanlike behavior in previous State Games or other noted sports competitions.
    • An athlete may be removed from the California State Games competition if they display unsportsmanlike behavior.
    • A parent or coach may be removed from a venue if they display unsportsmanlike behavior.
  • HOTEL BOOKING POLICY

    All Basketball, Ice Hockey-Adult,  & Water Polo teams are required to book hotel accommodations at one of the listed CSG host hotels offered at discounted prices. Choosing not to do so results in a $300 deviation fee. Visit the HOTEL DISCOUNTS page for more details.  

  • INCLUDED WITH SUMMER GAMES ENTRY FEE

    Included with Summer Games Entry Fee

    • Free admission to Opening Ceremonies in Parade of Athletes
    • Participation in a statewide competition
    • Qualified Tournament Directors & Officials
    • Chance for a Medal and possibly a Championship Banner
    • Quality Venues
    • Sports equipment used during competition
    • Medical personnel at most venues
    • Liability Insurance
    • Water at venues
  • ATHLETE WAIVER

    Print and sign the Athlete Waiver and bring to your venue.  

    If you signed up as an individual online, you would have signed it online and do not need to  sign it again.

    Every player on a team needs to print and sign the waiver.

  • COVID-19 CAL STATE GAMES GUIDELINES

    California State Games is monitoring the ongoing concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are committed to the health and well-being of our constituents and will be taking the necessary steps to help prevent the spread of the virus and keep everyone safe during California State Games.

    California State Games is following the recommendations and directives of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the California State Health Department/Governor’s Office.
