Cal State Games COVID-19 Safety Considerations for Sports Competitions

Cal State Games COVID-19 Considerations Being Reviewed for all Sports

California State Games is monitoring the ongoing concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are committed to the health and well-being of our constituents and will be taking the necessary steps to help prevent the spread of the virus and keep everyone safe during California State Games and our sports competitions.

California State Games is following the recommendations and directives of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the California State Health Department/Governor’s Office

In addition to the government policies, we are initiating our own guidelines for each sport. We will be posting these on each sport page once they have been finalized by our Medical Team. Under consideration are the following:
  • Daily thorough cleaning of each venue
  • Social distancing for athletes(when possible) and spectators
  • Hand sanitizers at all entrances
  • Masks to be worn by all except by athletes/refs during competition, if policy is still in effect
  • Posters showing guidelines at each venue
  • Temperature Check station at entrance
  • Adjusting schedules to minimize # of people at one time
  • Additional equipment (balls, etc) so they can be cleaned during games
  • COVID-19 testing stations, if available.
Click here for the Cal State Games COVID-19 Guidelines and Refund Policy. We will continue to update our guidelines and policies as we get closer to the Games in San Diego on July 17-19, 2020.
